The RCAP works to improve the quality of life in rural communities by providing on-site training and technical assistance services on environmental, infrastructure and developmental issues.

Through it's three signature programs, the NESC at West Virginia University, assists small and rural communities with their drinking water and wastewater problems through it's publications and services.

Since 1970, the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) with its many partners, programs, and projects, protects public health by ensuring safe drinking water and protecting ground water and public health.
